I've first came aross them through their session available on The Perfumed Garden, and have seen them live twice...they're really good, but the album is disapointing; it's overproduced and has lost some of the frentic energy of their early demos.

I have the new single details for you all !!!!!!

From the band so here it is........................

MY YEAR IN LISTS
We are pleased to announce the next single to be released from our album. It is My Year In Lists. It will be the second single we've released that we've dubbed a 'concept single'. Tom, he explain:

"All less than a minute long, or "<1" as we've so economically named it, It's a celebration of brevity and transience in pop music: all the best pop songs are short, or short-lived. As are most pop bands' careers. Probably ours too. Damn this ever-hungry web 2.0 generation... Never mind, no-one really wants to waste time with longevity and patience; this is for those of short attention span that won't sit still... "

The A side, My Year In Lists, is one minute and forty-nine seconds long. That is also the combined total duration of the three b-sides we recorded. These three songs are all covers. The track list reads like:
1. My Year In Lists
2. The Eyebright Bugler (Deerhoof cover)
3. In Accordance To Natural Law (Bikini Kill cover)
4. Yr Boyfriend (Casiotone For The Painfully Alone cover)

This will be released, in all the usual ways, I'm sure, on April 14th.

What a sedate life Gareth has check this out for day's work!!!

March 20th, 2008

this is my favourite time of the day when we’re not on tour.

3pm: come dine with me (best thing on tv)

3:30pm: countdown

4:15pm: deal or no deal (often coupled with a nap)

5pm: golden balls

6pm: friends

6:30pm: hollyoaks

usually sat with one or both of my sisters, and my mum.

one of the things I think about often as ‘gareth off of los campesinos!’ is how truthful i should be with my opinions. i mean, if 18 months ago somebody had come up to me on the street and said “what do you think of <insert name of band I don’t like here>?” then I would happily, gloriously have rattled off a list of reasons why they are awful and why anybody who likes them is very foolish.

but since being in a band that for some reason music press and some humans are vaguely interested in I find myself facing questions like this quite a lot. I think the best thing to do would be to refuse to comment, or reply with something like “can’t i just speak about bands i like instead?”, which i did do for a long time, but that got boring. It’s not through a desire to be controversial at all, but just to be HONEST. i’m a ‘music fan’. and music fans talk about bands that they like and bands that they don’t like, right? it’s natural.

so now I’ve been asked to do a question thing for a broadsheet newspaper, and it sets me up with questions like these:

“I couldn’t marry someone who liked…“

“The worst song I have heard is…“

what’s a boy to do Razz
